The other day, a lifelong friend reached out to me. He’s been through it. He’s still going through it. I am talking years of drug use, toxic relationships, and cycles of narcissistic abuse that drained him of his identity.

But now, he’s getting clean. He’s doing the work. He asked me a question that hit me deep.

"How do I get back to the person everyone used to love?"

I sat with that for a while because I know that feeling all too well.

When you’ve spent years losing yourself (to addiction, abuse, and trying to be who everyone else loved), it’s natural to want to reclaim the version of yourself that felt safe, loved, and whole.

But there is a truth that I am about to share…. but first?
